Good morning

There are many things in life

that will catch your eyes,

but only a few will catch your

H E A R T

Autumn roses from the garden of my office.

I wonder when I will see the news ones.

So dark in the morning

and next week

we we will experience the

"real darkness"

 for the end of Summer Time.

Let's play

E. is getting really addicted to PS game.

It looks like there are no other games 

in the house except

 Sonic Heroes & C.

So we try to give him a fixed period of time

when he can play and then when time is over 

he has to stop

When we have time

(usually mainly on Saturdays or Sundays)

we try to experience and teach him  

new games.

Like the traditional ones 

belonging to our childhood

Now that he is growing

it is much more fun indeed.

He is very good and enjoys

But he always want to win  

tries to cheat to win the game

and gets angry if he doesn't.

But this is part of the game

and he has to learn

to lose sometimes.

On a foggy, cloudy

Yesterday we took our bycicles

and cycled up to a narrow path
that leads to an ancient stone bridge
called the "Devil's bridge"
There is a legend about this name
but I cannot remember anynore.
I have to find it out

I remember this place

 as a scary place

when I was a kid
and we were not allowed to cycle here alone.

E. was not told about this devil's dwell

October is almost over

Days are getting shorter & shorter

and warm sunny days 

are leaving us in silence

This morning when I took the car to go to work

the display was showing -1 degree

Not quite frozen landscape around me

just some "shy" autumn frost 

During the day temperature raised up to 18 degrees

Still some warm bright sunny days

Fog and mist are just a memory

Winter preview

We have been told

by the weather man

but we could not believe 

it woul have happened

until we woke up this morning!

Just a small preview of the coming winter

melting as soon some shy sun beams 

lighted the peaks.

Rollermania

On Friday E. attends

a roller blades course with other kids

in the local indoor stadium.

Today it's his 3rd lesson

He likes it very much

and he is always "training" in our garage.

In the first lesson he was really stiff

His legs looked like two logs

but then he got more confident

and now he is  looser

Ready
for jumps and loops ......

We bought this really cool helmet with skulls

because the one he was using for cycling

with colourful small cars & trucks

was not  C O O L enough .....

Spoilt kid or spoilt parents?

Trans fat chocolate mousse

On Sunday E.

 (and me as Master Chocolatier's assistant)

prepared this ready made

C H O CO L A T E
M O U S S E

When I bought it I thought it was made

just of real pure chocolate

The brand was so reliable:

the famous Swiss Chocolate Company

But when I read the ingredients on the box

I found out that
 in this "magic" cocoa powder
they add also
unhealthy trans fatty acids
made through the chemical process of hydrogenation of oils.

Yes I know that in other foods

(like cookies, crackers, margarines, french fries)

we maybe eat without knowing 

and without paying attention to the label of the ingredients

you can find these trans fats
But being aware of that

gives you a strange feeling

It's like eating something

after you have read something sounding like

"It's poisoning"

Anyway next time

I will pay much more attention to labels

or I will prepare my own chocolate mousse 

following a real recipe like this 

(it looks  simple...)

Autumn is here

Gardening today

Such a lot of fallen leaves

M & E fixed the garden

before the winter sleep

So foggy like a real 

Autumn gloomy day

Dragons exist ....

  E. doesn't have nightmares so often

Sometimes I hear him

mumbling in the middle of the night

but he never tells about scary dreams

He doesn't fear dragons or monsters

but he is afraid of ghosts and darkness

For this reason he doen't want to go upstairs

(where we have bedrooms) 
alone

He falls asleep with small star-shaped turned on lights 

hanging on the shelf opposite his bed

that we turn off as soon as he falls asleep

and when he wakes up in the night

he can turn them on

and go on sleeping

with their reassuring light

 

Lately he sometimes wakes up

in the middle of the night

and asks if he can join us

in the "big bed"

Not because of nightmares or ghosts

but just in

search of hugs
